2024 Selectboard Rules
I’m excited to announce that the Selectboard unanimously approved my recommendations to require additional ways to make it easier for the public to know when and how to attend our bi-weekly meetings.
Starting today, Town Staff are required to post all of the meeting details in a timely manner before our public meetings, including the agenda and link to join virtually on the town’s website. This means that the same warnings that are physically placed throughout town will be bolstered by the commitment to do the same on our town’s new website. In addition, I have asked to be part of the working group that will create a stronger and more efficient implementation of the virtual meetings, including making them more engaging with better visibility, both as a participant and as an in-person attendant. Our rules now include the equal application of the rules both virtually and in person.
For far too long, we have done the bare minimum, as required by state law, and I’m proud to say we’re starting to do more. It’s incredibly important to me that everyone, not just those who have the physical ability to be in the room, are given the chance to participate and engage with their public officials.
As soon as the signed rules are recorded with the Town Clerk, I will share them for easy reference.
